I have seen one Inca dove since 2002 in Oasis Valley, this juvenile which appeared at my seed feeder in the yard one September.

Inca doves have been gradually expanding northward from Mexico and southern Arizona in the last century, and were first noticed in Nevada in 1952. Currently all records of breeding are south of our area, in Clark County and the Las Vegas area where these little doves inhabit urban and garden areas. They are intolerant of cold, and therefore we ar at the probabl northern limit of their potential range. (Atlas of Breeding Birds of Nevada, Floyd et al., 2007, University of Nevada Press, Reno.)

In nearby Death Valley (Inyo County, California), Inca doves have been seen in every month of the year at Furnace Creek Ranch mostly, with a rise in numbers in fall.
