^A MacGillivray's warbler hunts insects in an Iodinebush (Allenrolfea occidentalis) while a large red dragonfly perches at the top left.
These yellowish warblers are common spring and fall migrants, the "fall" migration extending from August into October. They like to hide in thickets, weed patches, and dense shrublands where they call their dull "tchup" call.
They nest in moist spring thickets and montane chaparral of the higher ranges in Nevada, and may perhaps breed in the nearby Grapevine Mountains 20 miles to the west of Oasis Valley.
