^Doves are abundant in Oasis Valley in summer, with flocks of dozens feeding in fields, out in creosote deserts, saltgrass areas along the Amargosa River, and yards. They winter nearby in lower basins such as Death Valley (California), and in the Pahrump and Las Vegas areas of Nevada.
^I found this nest with chicks in a grassy area on the ground. Usually the doves build their flimsy twig nests on tree branches.
