In Oasis Valley, these flycatchers are uncommon migrants in My and September. Before I see them , I often hear their characteristic calls, "pip-pip-pip", or song "whip-three beers". They breed in tall pine forests in the Sierra, as well as montane forests in the Spring Range (Clark County) apparently, as well as a few other ranges in Nevada.
