I suspect Roadrunners are permanent residents of the deserts and marsh edges around Oasis Valley and Beatty, although I have not recorded them in every month (yet). We are at the northern edge of their range, as these ground predators inhbait the Mojave Desert region of southern Nevada.
They frequent the rabbitbrush patches where prey lizards such as Western whiptails (Cnemidophorus tigris) are abundant. Roadrunners also come into areas by houses, hopping up on patio furniture, an making brief flights up to fence posts to look about.
